House of Fashion, new Bobbi Brown makeup & drunk bloggers

Fashion, makeup, charity, semi-naked models, Jagermeister – all a standard Friday night in Leeds (we wish).

Recently, I popped along to Baracoa Luxe Bar for the House of Fashion event.  The premise: a showcase of collections by Lush Apparel, Lisa Jayne Danne, AKA and House of Fraser; a live Bobbi Brown makeup demo and some fundraising for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (a fantastic cause).

What a treat. The models stomping down the catwalk gave us a flash of House of Fraser’s S/S offerings. Some really stood out to me:

I’ve got to be honest, and say 80% of my lust was for some of the shoes! We had punky platforms with huge spikes and studs on the back; lace-up ankle boots to die for – I’m definitely hunting some of these down.

The makeup looks on the models were very much a classic smoky eye, strong brows and red lips, combined with big hair. Not overly polished, and very wearable.

We were treated to a demo of the new Bobbi Brown Uber Pink collection.  For a better view, I’m going in-store soon, but I can tell you that the Neon Pink lipstick is absolutely stunning.
I cannot wait until Spring is properly upon us, as then I’ll probably be wearing that every single day.

Back to the fashion…

Things took a darker turn, and we saw slouchy sweater dresses (channel an updated Desperately Seeking Susan style Madonna to wear this), luxe sports wear, and (I think the bloggers favourite) the underwear/gratuitous semi-naked models part.

The evening was rounded off with a raffle – all proceeds going to the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. I won a beautiful Rituals Laughing Buddha gift set (review coming soon of course).  Then, well, it was inevitable really… the words ‘free Jagermeister’ were uttered, and the stampede to the bar commenced.

Baracoa do good cocktails. This ended up with quite a few sore heads (read: drunk bloggers) the next day.  But for then, who cared!?  We had a good blogger gossip, met some beautiful people and had a damn good time.

We did, thanks Charlotte! That new BB collection is gorgeous – I thought I just wanted the lipstick, but OH NO… those pink bronzers (isn't that just blusher?! ha) are so beautiful. Need all the things! x

I went to this event too, and I can actually see me in the background of one of your photos 😛
I can't say I was impressed by this event though, unfortunately. The man who presented it was soooo cringy!
    Great review of it though!
    xx
