New Year, indeed

Happy New Year! I hope you had a suitably lovely break, and are fully revved up for 2015.

Or have you made loads of resolutions you can’t keep and are currently reading this while hunched over the rest of the Quality Street like Gollum?

It’s fine. I promise I won’t judge. I spent the first 10 days of the year pretty much in my pyjamas, being unwell.  There’s a little known secret though. I’ll let you in on it…

On 1st January. Nothing changes. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nowt. 

There is no ‘clean slate’ or ‘blank page’, the same way that no amount of fitfam hashtags you use on Instagram will kid the rest of the world into thinking you make saintly choices for every meal.

So, you know, we don’t have to become these magical new beings all of a sudden. Normal is good. Abnormal, possibly better!

Fancy making a pact with me, right now? Let’s try and just be nice this year. Let’s be helpful to people who need a hand (especially those we know who won’t or can’t ask for it), not be greedy, or selfish. Smile more, listen to great music. Buy great music – yes, actually pay for it, you know, so our favourite bands can do stuff like pay their bills, it’s a revelation, I know. Be creative, check out a different perspective. Have fun. Love a bit more.

Make an effort.

    Aw this is so lovely haha and a little reassuring too, it usually takes me a good few days to get motivated for any sort of resolution or change after christmas but I can do being nice, and also paying for music- my god it's a bug bear of mine the people who DONT xxx

    I agree I dont make new year resolutions if I cant stick to them normally why would I on January the 1st. This year alot of changes will be made in my life. Good points hunny

    I cannot WAIT for your changes (wink wink!). It's so very exciting honey. Plus, definitely need to get on BY this year. When there's time. Think you may have to take a *slightly* different approach haha xxx

    The first week after New Year is always hard. I don't get where motivation comes from for people some times! I get on a massive downer usually. But on and UP today! xx

    Oh I love this Mrs! I don't know why I hadn't seen it before. My pact was just be more positive and not whinge and moan. Be grateful for everything & anything. So far, so good! I hope 2015 is being kind to you.
